HOME released a seminal study on racial steering in the Richmond, Virginia real estate market. Ultimately this study led the Richmond Realtors Association to focus on fair housing education for their members.

The U.S. Supreme Court, in a landmark unanimous decision, Havens Realty Corp. v. Coleman, found that HOME and its testers have standing to sue in fair housing cases, sets national precedent, and expands fair housing enforcement nationwide.
